Dave reached the quarter finals of the William Hill World Darts Championship at the Alexandra Palace for the first time since joining the PDC.
He came through a tense first round 3-2 with Rowby-John Rodriguez, before defeating Chris Dobey and then Jelle Klaasen by the same 4-2 scoreline.
In the last eight, Chizzy came up against reigning World Champion Gary Anderson and despite 20 180s, he was defeated 3-5 in one of the best games of the tournament.

After travelling the globe as part of the 2016 World Series, Dave reached the semi finals as the series due to a close with the grand finals in Glasgow.
An impressive performance in his second round win over Kim Huybrechts 6-4 was followed by another solid display against two-time former World Champion Adrian Lewis as Chizzy won 10-6.
In the semi final, Dave faced world number one Michael van Gerwen, where he eventually lost out 3-10.
JAMES' MAKE CHIZZY SIT DOWN
It was an unhappy return to Wolverhampton for Dave, where he made the final two years ago, as he failed to progress through the group stages at the Grand Slam of Darts.
Drawn in Group G, he lost out 2-5 in his initial match against James Wilson.
In his second match, Chizzy came up against an in form Jamie Hughes and lost 1-5.
Despite a 5-3 win over James Wade in the final game, it was too little too late for Dave.
